Troy High School Scholar Bowl Headed to State!
The Trojan High School Scholar's Bowl team is going to the State Finals in Goessel, Kansas Saturday the 15th of February! Going to Regional's is a story in itself. They started Regionals with 2 loses to Washington and Frankfort in a 7 team bracket . "We were definitely in the tougher bracket." Said Scholar's Bowl captain Kael Morris. They were the bottom team in the bracket to move onto finals. Again, they suffered 2 loses in the final rounds when they won three rounds consecutively including a win in the rematch against Frankfort. The team did not realize they placed 2nd and advanced to State until the last round was completed. Even then, they did not believe it. Kael Morris was trying to calculate in his head the results of the final rounds, Joey Parks nervously did football drills in the cafeteria. It is safe to say, he did not know what to do with himself. Taylor O'Connor proclaimed she would cry. Holly Williams was comforting Taylor, and Riley Shelton was red in the face. Then it was announced that they took runner-up; the celebration rivaled that of a Kansas-City touchdown.
