Update from USD 429 Troy

Dear USD 429 Parents, Guardians and Students:

The information we receive from the federal, state and regional governments changes daily and by the hour.  We have to adjust our plans also. We will continue to update the Troy Public School Facebook page, our website www.troyusd.org, and we will send a textcaster when we update the information.  The textcaster will only tell you we have updated information.   We are working on an updated mass email list serve for parents and students.  Students grades  7-12 have school email addresses and know how to access that email.

We are still planning on starting school, officially, on March 30th.  The details and plans will be communicated to you and your students this week.  We will not have any on site face to face interaction with kids the first week of school.  Students not coming to the building could last longer, but we are taking it a couple weeks at a time.  It is possible teachers have reached out to parents and students and some material will be coming home prior to March 30.

Troy Middle/High School is planning on having face to face with students over Zoom.  Detailed continuous learning plans will be delivered to parents and students via the above mentioned platforms for communication.  So be looking for that information on updates.

We have a plan for picking up students supplies, textbooks, computers and other resources.  This will be shared in another post.  We are continuing to work hard for your kids.  The rules and guidelines are changing quickly and we will need to adjust with them.  We feel for you as you manage and guide your families through this difficult time.

Sincerely,

Patrick E. McKernan

Superintendent of Schools/Elementary Principal
