Four Lady Trojans Earn NEKL All League Honors

Troy Volleyball Athletes Shine with NEKL All-League Honors

Troy High School volleyball players were recently recognized for their outstanding performances during the 2024 season with honors from the Northeast Kansas League (NEKL). Senior Allie Franken, junior Harper Whetstine, and junior Nicole Judd were named to the prestigious NEKL All-League First Team, while sophomore Gracie Grable earned NEKL Second Team honors. These accolades highlight the hard work, dedication, and exceptional talent these players displayed throughout the season.

Senior Allie Franken: First-Team All-League

Allie Franken, a senior, was selected to the NEKL All-League First Team after a stellar season as one of Troy’s most dynamic players. Known for her leadership on the court, Franken’s all-around contributions were crucial to Troy’s success. Whether as a key attacker or a reliable passer, Allie consistently demonstrated her volleyball IQ and ability to perform under pressure. Her powerful serves and precise hitting helped propel Troy to several key victories during the season. As a senior, Franken has been a cornerstone of the Trojans' volleyball program, and her leadership will be missed next year.

Junior Harper Whetstine: First-Team All-League

Also named to the NEKL All-League First Team was junior Harper Whetstine, who has made a name for herself as one of the league’s top athletes. Whetstine's versatility and explosive play on the court have been vital to the Trojans' success. Whether it was her powerful spikes, exceptional passing, or strong defensive efforts, Harper’s presence on the court was felt by both her teammates and opponents. Her consistent play throughout the season earned her a well-deserved spot on the First Team, and she will undoubtedly be a key player for Troy in the seasons to come.

Junior Nicole Judd: First-Team All-League

Junior Nicole Judd rounded out the trio of NEKL All-League First Team selections for Troy. Known for her quick reflexes and strong court presence as a libero, her defensive skills were also top-notch, making her a well-rounded player who contributed significantly to the team’s overall success. Judd’s recognition as a First-Team selection speaks to her determination, work ethic, and skill on the court.

Senior Gracie Grable: Second-Team All-League

In addition to the First-Team selections, senior Gracie Grable earned NEKL Second Team honors. Gracie, has been a key contributor with the varsity squad. Her ability to make quick decisions and her strong serving and hitting have helped set the tone for the Trojans all year long. Gracie’s recognition as a Second-Team selection is a testament to her growth in becoming a leader for the Troy volleyball program.
