Derek Frieling teaches the high school social studies courses. He has been at Troy High School since the 2025-2026 school year. He serves on the state board for the Social Studies Council and is a voting member of the National Council of the Social Studies House of Delegates. He enjoys traveling to teacher professional development programs throughout the summer months, visiting over 10 countries and numerous locations around the United States, to bring those histories back to his students.
