Dear USD 429 Parents, Guardians and Patrons:
We are off and running into a new school year. I'm certain you are as busy as we are keeping up with your children. What a fun time for you as parents, and what a great time for your children. We have had a good start to the school year. All our new staff are adjusting, and our veteran staff are helping out, making sure we are covering all our bases. Communication is a big part of making sure everything runs as smoothly as possible.
The USD 429 Board of Education approved the district goals for the 2024 -2025 school year. One of the goals I want to address with all our stakeholders is district communication.
- With board of education, staff, and site council input, USD 429 will study their methods and modes of communication.
- This will be an agenda item at a fall site council meeting to gain input.
- The teaching staff will discuss this relating to classroom communication.
- Coaches and sponsors will discuss from their perspective including their roles and methods and perception of communications.
- Board input to see what other types of communication they want implemented.
We put a tremendous amount of emphasis and time on communicating with all our stakeholders. We will have some spirited discussions about communication as the year goes on. I don’t think I am going out on a limb by saying, we are the most tuned in society that has ever existed. We get more information than ever, by many means, whether we want it or not. Communication is a two-way street. We understand just because we put it out there, doesn’t mean you all read it. So again, we want to find out what is working for us and what is not. I look forward to the discussions and feedback.
