Dear USD 429 Parents/Guardians, and Patrons:
As we roll into Christmas Break, I wanted to take a minute to share my appreciation to all of you, for your support of our students, staff, and the entire school system. I am proud to serve as your superintendent of schools and am looking forward to moving into 2025 continuing to work with all of you. We have had a busy couple weeks and as noted on this website, many students have accomplished some great things. Please be looking for the Esports article to see how our Esports team did at HCC last week. We also want to recognize our middle school girls’ basketball team. They accomplished an undefeated league season and won first place in the NEKL tournament. 16-0! Congratulations to the coaches and the teams.
I have added a link to our 5 year strategic plan (Troy USD 429 School District 5 Year Strategic Plan 2022 Column Style.pdf). We are crossing items off the list and continuing to work on many areas listed in all four focus areas. The board of education reviews this plan, more than once, throughout the year. We believe it allows us to have needed discussion on important topics like curriculum, culture, community, staff and students, and facilities. We will continue to use this document to help us guide decisions for the future of the district.
A reminder that break runs from December 21st-Jan 5th. We come back for an Inservice day with teachers on January 6th. We will have some areas of the buildings closed during break as we will be stripping and waxing some floors in the high school area. The building offices will be closed over the break and the district office will be closed for much of the break. However, don’t hesitate to reach out to me pmckernan@troyusd.org over email if you need anything.
